I am looking forward to the 2017 Youth Media Awards ceremony at the ALA Midwinter Meeting and Exhibition on Monday, Jan.23, in which the Newbery Medal Award and the Caldecott Medal Award will be announced. Woo hoo! I wonder what books will win?starbarstarbar

Of course, I am already anticipating some wonderful books that will be coming out in 2017.

Here are three titles that will be out soon:

Based on the bestseller and soon to be major picture, Wonder, this edition is geared for  younger readers. Auggie Pullman was born with extreme facial abnormalities. His story in Wonder relates his experiences as he tries to be accepted as normal in the real world and gain kindness and respect from others. In We’re All Wonders, younger readers will learn what it is like to live in Auggie’s world and the difficulties he faces every day.

mighty-mighty-construction-site Mighty, Mighty Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker

This is the continuation of the favorite book, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. The contruction crew vehicles once again take on a big job that requires all to work together.

By the same author who wrote the popular books, The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home, this fun and entertaining book relates how the classic game Rock, Paper, Scissors got started.
