Happy Birthday Marc Brown!

Marc Tolon Brown was born on November 25, 1946. He is an author and illustrator of children’s books and perhaps best known as the creator of the Arthur series. The Arthur books have inspired the popular and Emmy award winner Arthur TV series on PBS.

Mr. Brown has a Cleveland connection. He majored in graphic design at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Did you know that Arthur goes to Lakewood Elementary? In Arthur’s Birthday, Arthur and his mother go to the Fairwood Party Story. Fairwood was an elementary school that he visited in Berea, Ohio back in the 1980s.

Find out more about Marc Brown by visiting his website.  His latest book is Monkey: Not Ready for Baby  was published September 6, 2016. You can find the first book about Monkey, Monkey: Not Ready for Kindergarten in our children’s collection. This looks like it will be another winning series for Brown!

My favorite will always be Arthur. Wow! It’s hard to believe that we have been enjoying Arthur and his friends by Marc Brown for over 25 years!

Thank you Marc Brown for your wonderful characters! Happy Birthday!

Happy Reading!
